Bordens dairy products, and a symbol of excellence in the dairy
industry. She represents flavor, trust, and traditional values.
Bordens collectibles, in particular, Elsie collectibles have appeared on posters, booklets, mugs, creamers, and dolls. The matriarchal bovine has appeared in all manner of advertising from magazines, to television, to grocery store displays. Her husband is Elmer, best known for his glue. Her twins started out as Beulah and Beauregard, but were later renamed Bea and Beaumister. She was briefly retired in the 1960s, but because of public demand, was reactivated to a prominent position in the company where she remains today. The Elsie book, "My Story", produced in 1942, commands a price of $25. Items such as a 9 1/2 inch Elsie bust from the 1940s can command upwards of $200.
